Action 2: Student Surveys and Walking Interviews

At the beginning of the year, we collected data from staff in order to zoom in on a focus for the year.  Now it is time to ask the students for information in order to determine next steps for our students related to our focus.  Our questions are from the Spirals of Inquiry book:

What are you learning about reading?

Why is what you are learning important?

What is next for your learning?

How do you know?

We will ask these questions to individual students through walking interviews at recess and lunch. We will also ask these questions to whole classes when we have the opportunity to teach when we are providing collaboration blocks.

Once collected, we will share student quotes with staff and we will use what we learn to determine next steps and see if our focus is making a difference.
