We surveyed 273 students in Grades 2 – 7 this Spring.​

• 92 % of students shared they have friends at school​.
• 87% of students have a trusted adult at school who they can turn to.  This is a 12% improvement from last year.​
• 96% feel that they are treated with kindness at school.

Our survey shows that our actions this year have helped our staff, students, and families feel more connected at school.  Our next steps are for us to continue to work on using common language and strategies as a school that supports Social Emotional Learning and connects with the Core Competencies.  We will also continue to work as a staff and as a community on what kindness looks like, feels like, and sounds like at DeBeck by developing a broader understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  We will support staff through Pro-D opportunities, lunch and learns, and collaboration time to work on ensuring students have access points to the learning and that the learning reflects equity and diversity.
