First Peoples Principles of Learning

We ended our weekly assemblies with a focus on the First People’s Principles of Learning.  We centred most of our learning on the first principle of learning which says, “Learning ultimately supports the well-being of the self, the family, the community, the land, the spirits, and the ancestors.”  Noticing, naming and understanding how we are all connected helps us as learners and supports our work together in helping everyone feel cared for and a sense of belonging in our community.

Tragically at the end of the school year, we learned of the unmarked graves found on land of Residential Schools in Canada.  We are working together to learn and reflect on Canada's past so that we can work together to create a better tomorrow.
